In 1951 the very first television mast (Netherlands 1) was built in Hilversum. This was replaced in 1973 by the new mast on the Witte Kruislaan. Initially the tower was 142 high, nowadays the construction is 196 meters.
The towers of Cellnex have various functions. For example, they are part of the Dutch emergency infrastructure, they are still used for broadcasting radio and television, they are part of the telecommunications infrastructure for mobile providers and they offer datacenter facilities.
Given the special character of the towers, these are normally only accessible to customers. Especially for the Muziekids Foundation, Cellnex is opening its telecom and data to the general public during the Open Studio Days.
The view from the tower at more than 100 meters is phenomenal! You can see the Media Park and the nature reserves of the Gooi and Vecht region. And with a clear view, even the Dom Tower of Utrecht and the Amsterdam Arena. A special experience for young and old.
