Datacenter Hilversum

Witte Kruislaan 47-A
1217 AM

In 1951, the very first radio mast for television (Nederland 1) was built in Hilversum, but this mast was replaced by this new mast on the Witte Kruislaan in 1973. At first, the tower was 142 meters high, but the current construction is 196 meters. In 2011, the tower was named the ‘Man Bijt Hond’ television tower. At the start of the new television season of 2013, the tower was ‘officially opened’.

Cellnex has set up a datacenter in this tower. There is great video footage of the construction, you can view that here.
